Social justice club
Advisor: Ms. Mendoza
The Social Justice Club meets every Wednesday at 3:00 pm in room 104. We discuss topics such as equity, mental health, the Black Lives Matter Movement, effective communication, equity, and current events as they pertain to the status of this country. ACE
Advisors: Mr. Rouse and Mr. Skabry
The Academic Center for Enrichment is a tutoring based after school program created to help students take a proactive approach to their academic success. Students can enter this program to receive one-on-one tutoring, small group tutoring, peer tutoring, lesson reinforcement, and Regents preparation as we approach testing season in all major subjects. Students also learn skills such as study skills, time management, and organization which enables them to heighten their success throughout high school. In addition, homework help is offered for students who would like assistance before leaving school. If you would like to improve your academic performance join us on Mon-Thurs 3-4:15.
Medical Club

Find out if a career in medicine is right for you! Get an inside view on what different types of physicians and health care providers do, discuss current topics in medicine and the changing world of healthcare, and volunteer to help the medically underserved within our community. United Nations Club
Advisor: Ms. Dimas
Disseminate information about the activities of the United Nations. Enhance education through the teaching of interconnected global and national issues. Encourage students to think about their role in an interdependent world. Culminates in a human rights conference every February.

Creativity Club
Advisor: Mrs. Werder
Members will participate in fun and exciting activities that will provide an outlet for their creative minds. Keep in mind that no certain skill is required; we believe everyone is creative in his or her own way. The purpose of this club is to give students a chance to express themselves and meet other like-minded peers. Throughout the school year, the Creativity Club plans to:Support animal shelters; Create, and donate cards for children's hospitals; Collect toys for children's hospitals; Compete in friendly competitions; Play games and participate in fun activities; And much more. Creativity Club members will meet once a week, every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm in Mrs.Werder’s classroom (Room 117).

JGS Yoga and Meditation Club

The mission of our JGS Yoga and Meditation club is to spread wellness through sharing and discussing tools for mindfulness, peace and self-union. We welcome members of any gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status and accessibility level. An inclusive yoga community is one in which each and every individual's unique traits and characteristics are appreciated and celebrated (Everybody is a yoga body!) It is through this that we are reminded of peace within ourselves. In our GoogleClassroom, you will find resources to learn more about yoga and meditation, as well as video and audio, amazing free texts and activities. On the second Wednesday of each month at 3PM, members of our yoga and meditation club will meet. We will explore and experience sessions of guided meditation, breathing techniques (pranayama), meta-meditation, restorative postures and more engaging physical yoga as well. JGS Anime Club

The JGS Anime Club is a great place to discuss your favorite anime genres and series with other anime fans! We will be meeting on the last Wednesday of each month at 3PM. This club focuses on interactive games and activities to test members' knowledge and love of anime! Our club is open to all respectful members of our campus, from anime experts to those who are wondering what all the hype is about. JGS Gender and Sexuality Alliance

Our organization was founded by the first graduating class of Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences to foster and create a safe space of respect, acceptance and connection between members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. As this year's GSA Allies, students will meet online on the last Tuesday of each month at 3PM for vibrant affirmations and discussions, to attend visual trips and film screenings, speak with guest "celebrity" speakers, and network with professionals within our community who are actively involved in advocacy organizations, youth programs and scholarships. Student government is a group of students that are charged with managing a wide range of events, activities, programs, policies and initiatives around school. Some members are elected by the student body, and others may be appointed by the elected officials to help with specific tasks or areas of interest.
MSA - Muslim Student Association CLub

Law Team (Mock Trial Competition)
Advisors: Mr. Bellantuono and Ms. Vitale
Law Team is a rigorous club co-sponsored by the New York Bar Foundation. Students are presented with a court case and given the opportunity to assume the role of a lawyer or key witness. Students will write opening statements, closing arguments, and narratives to support their side of the case and develop public speaking skills as they present during a series of competitions against other New York high schools. This is an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of civil/criminal law and courtroom procedures.
The gateway dance project
Advisor: Ms. Chalmers, Ms. Forrester
Is an intramural team. Some of the styles of dance that we specialize in are Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical and Jazz. We are open to learning new dance styles and we give members a chance to teach the team about their dance culture. This team helps members to develop friendships, foster leadership and collaborative qualities, and helps members to gain confidence. All members must meet defined grade requirements and to ensure safety, members must be vaccinated as the state explains that this is considered a "contact" sport.

Badminton Club

The badminton club is a club organized to give students time to learn and practice the basics of badminton including the rules and skills necessary and ample time to practice those skills. When the club meets, each student will be able to practice badminton skills and/or challenge classmates to a match. (no prior knowledge or experience is required to participate)

Asian Media Club

Asian Media Club gives students the chance to meet up and watch dramas specifically from the East Asian Region in a relaxing and stress free environment. The members will choose new dramas every month and discuss, theorize, and simply enjoy the vibes together. Occasionally snacks will be provided. All students interested are welcome, whether you’ve been watching dramas for years or are interested in starting. Meetings will be held every Tuesday from 3-4 pm. Yearbook Committee

The Yearbook Committee collaborates with the graduating class to compile memories, conduct surveys, take photographs and design layouts for an annual publication. Any students interested in the fields of public relations, photography and graphic design are welcome to join! Meetings are held each Monday at 3pm in Room 139. bengali Association Club
Advisor: Ms.Hasan
The Bengali Association Club is to learn more about Bengali culture and how the culture was throughout our growth, the difficulties we face coming to America from Bangladesh, and cultural differences. Learn about Bengali food, and also talk about Bengali history and tradition. We also play fun Bengali games. We listen to Bengali music and for those who like dancing, we can do that too. We can come up with new ideas that are fun and educational to learn in the club. We’ll meet every other Monday after school.
